Our Acting Program

Acting is an important tool for people of all ages to develop life’s essential skills of proper physical movement and vocal production, public speaking, teamwork, problem-solving, use of the imagination, as well as logical reasoning and observing and discovering yourself as a person.

Acting classes run from September - May unless other wise indicated.

Musical Theatre

Available for: Senior

This course runs from September to May and combines dance, singing and acting as the student develops the techniques necessary in performing in musical theatre.

Solo, duet, trio and group pieces will be explored, from the beginnings of musical theatre to contemporary work that can be found on Broadway today. Throughout the year students will build their skills in character study, choral singing, harmony, staging, and choreography.

Junior/Intermediate Acting

Improvisation (acting without a script) is the building block for this introductory acting class. Students will learn stage movement, confidence, working with a group, story telling and character work. Later in the year, two to three person scenes will be explored, still using improvisation as a basis.

Senior Acting

This class is perfect for older kids interested in improving their acting skills. It gives a quick introduction to acting through improvisation and then moves into character study, scene study and performance techniques.
